Before we have a chance to meet in person, I’d like to tell you a little about myself and my dental philosophy. After graduating from Northwestern University in Evanston, I completed dental school at the University Of Illinois College of Dentistry. An elective General Practice Residency program at Loyola University Medical Center provided me with advanced training in general dentistry, oral surgery, and general medicine. I began practicing at a large downtown office with high volume and followed that up at a small cosmetic practice in Wilmette. I have been the proud owner of Smiling Patient Dental Care since 2004. The patients of this practice have become my friends over the years and I am truly honored to have the pleasure of treating so many wonderful people.

Our office provides reconstructive and cosmetic dental procedures. Our facility is state-of-the-art. Need a crown? We can build it at one appointment with no impressions, no temporaries, and you’ll walk out with your final restoration at one appointment. Laser dentistry, an integral part of the practice for the last 8 years, means fillings are performed routinely without the need for anesthetic. We perform cosmetic gum surgery and periodontal surgery procedures with the laser. This allows me to perform many dental procedures without the post-operative discomfort associated with traditional surgical techniques. We now place and restore dental implants, for patients with missing teeth. We offer a variety of whitening options to best suit an individual, clear brace orthodontics, and laboratory service from the finest dental laboratories in the USA. Originally from Ft. Wayne, Indiana, I earned my B.S. in Biology from Ball State University. Inspired by my mother's 40-year career as a dental hygienist, I discovered my own passion for dentistry during this time.
Completing my dental education at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2004, I further honed my skills through a general practice residency at the University of Toledo. This invaluable experience included treating patients with diverse medical histories and performing specialized procedures, such as oral surgery and pediatrics.
For the past two decades, I've had the privilege of serving the Chicago community, both at a community health center and in private practice. This breadth of experience equips me to provide top-notch dental care, staying abreast of modern trends. I'm proud to be a member of the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, and the Chicago Dental Society.
Beyond the dental chair, I reside in Glenview with my husband, Dr. Raymond Tsou, and our two lovely daughters. In my downtime, you'll find me enjoying activities like tennis, poolside relaxation, and exploring new destinations. Looking forward to caring for your smiles!

Hello! I'm Emily Norton, and I'm thrilled to introduce myself as your general dentist, and excited to join the Smiling Patient Dental Care team. My mission is simple yet deeply meaningful – to educate and provide exceptional care filled with compassion to craft beautiful smiles for all our patients.
My dental journey began at Nova Southeastern University, where I graduated in 2019 with honors. I was fortunate to be a part of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon and Phi Kappa Pi honor societies, which reflect my dedication to excellence in dentistry.
After dental school, I embarked on an enriching adventure by completing a general practice hospital residency at Sepulveda VA Hospital. This experience expanded my knowledge and expertise, ensuring I can deliver comprehensive and high-quality care to you and your loved ones.
Beyond the clinic, my heart lies in community outreach. I've had the privilege of participating in dental mission trips to Jamaica and Guatemala, where I worked with underserved communities to improve their dental health. These experiences have been incredibly rewarding, reminding me of the importance of giving back.
When I'm not in the dental world, you'll find me either on the golf course beating in a friendly competition against my husband or in the pool swimming. I have also become quite the foodie and an avid cook, experimenting with various cuisines and flavors to create delicious meals.

Dr. Jennifer Shango Adhami graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry. She continued her education at the University of Detroit Mercy’s dental school serving as the student body president. She went on to receive her master’s degree in Oral Sciences and Certificate in Periodontics from the University of Illinois-Chicago.
Today, Dr. Adhami works as full-time private practitioner performing procedures limited to periodontics and implant dentistry. She is a current member of the American Dental Society, the American Academy of Periodontology, Midwest Society of Periodontics, Chicago Dental Society, and Illinois State Dental Society.
Dr. Adhami is constantly motivated to improve the lives of her patients and strives to provide an environment where patients feel protected and listened to. In her private life, Dr. Adhami enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending quality with her loving husband Jawad and son Daniel.

We also realize that none of equipment actually does anything without an incredible, well trained team to provide exceptional dental care. Patients with emergency problems that are experiencing pain, swelling, or bleeding often need immediate help.
We see emergencies immediately, and build time into our schedule to efficiently deal with your unexpected problems.
Patients who choose this level of care desire treatment only when something breaks or becomes uncomfortable.
Generally, patients at this level prefer short-term cursory-type examinations, and screening for more obvious advanced problems. They usually want to correct immediate problems with as little effort as possible, even though this treatment may not be the best long-term solution. Patients at this level are not yet ready for thorough or preventive treatment. Their motto might be, “Let’s just take care of what is wrong today and not worry about tomorrow.” These patients may be counting on fate or luck to see them through, at least for the present. These patients experience repeated problems that would be treated and controlled through regular care in levels 3 and 4.
Level three patients are interested in what they can do personally to improve their dental health and arrest any active disease processes, but choose repair solutions that are more short-range in duration.
They undergo a comprehensive examination, fully evaluating teeth, gums, and supporting tissue. During this process we formulate a long-term plan for their preferred dental future. However, due to current life circumstances or beliefs, they will follow a holding plan until they can proceed to a higher level. Rather than commence major treatment, they are monitored through frequent preventive maintenance visits with our hygienists.
Level four patients choose to have comprehensive examinations, master planning, and formulate a long-term treatment plan for health and repair to achieve a future based on choice, not chance.
Patients at this level are similar to the people at level 3. Unlike the maintenance care patient, these patients want all treatment to be completed in the most lasting fashion possible. They are happy to take an active role in their achievement of optimal oral health, interfacing closely with our staff before, during, and after treatment. These patients are very concerned about treating the causes of dental disease and not simply the effects. They want all treatment provided to be completed in the most lasting fashion possible. It is not uncommon for people to begin at one level and progress to a higher level over time.
